Ok so as you may have seen in the new member introductions, I have decided to start up again after about 10 years.
I am now very much an MacBook and iPad user but the laptop for the business is .......... Windows XP!!!!!!!!
blast from the past!
am I best to keep using this as it still works or should I upgrade? Don’t really want to buy new laptop and honestly wouldn’t know how to move everything over.
Please excuse the dumb question!!!

Depends what you want to use it for. You may have problems finding printer and cutter drivers, graphics drivers, etc.
Do you have existing equipment and software from 10 years ago? If so then it might not work properly on a new laptop running Windows 10. Having said that even a basic new laptop with an Intel i3chip and 4gb will outperform your old computer.
What is wrong with your Mac and iPad? Most printers and cutters have Mac drivers available.
If your Mac not having compatible graphics software is an issue, Serif Affinity works on Mac and is only about £50. Knowing Serif, if you download the free trial then within about one week of it expiring they will be offering you half price deals.

I will be doing mugs, t shirts etc. Just basic subl8mation printing - nothing fancy. I used photoshop before.
I have a ribbon printer which still works and the printer seems to still work although need to get more inks for it.
is Serif affinity like photoshop? Sorry but am a little clueless with 5his.
is Serif affinity like photoshop?
You can either buy Affinity Photo, which is like photoshop, or Affinity Designer that is vector software like Illustrator or Corel Draw. £48.99 for Mac or £19.99 for iPad.
If you already have all the drivers and Photoshop installed on your XP laptop then you are good to go. If not then Affinity could save you having to buy a new windows laptop.
