THAT SHOULD HAVE SAID eBay overtaken by Etsy! Shouldn't try to multitask!

Ebay has traditional sold more items for me in the UK than Etsy. However the last 6 months has seen a gradual swing the other way. Now Etsy outsells eBay. The odd thing being I have ignored Etsy for the last year as I was going to close it down. Good job I didn't as it's now a good source of sales.
Anybody else had this happen? Is it just "one of those things" or has Etsy taken off in the UK?

We jumped ship to Etsy after ditching eBay just over a year ago and best option. eBay is now terrible both in terms of gaining position (cheapest first) and buyers are damn rude. Etsy prices are now at a suitable price and people are so much nicer to deal with as they understand that this printing lark isn't cheap. I think eBay are running scared as they seem to be doing lots of advertising at the moment. If they clear out the Chinese sellers who pose as being in the UK and follow UK selling regulations and not their own (you can returned personalised items for no reason and get your money back) then it might have some chance for our industry but as a business rather than hobby then it isn't a suitable selling platform for us anymore.

I had no choice, I wasn't allowed onto eBay for some reason because the "representative" didn't grasp that I made items to order. They asked to see the items I listed, I sent them photos of boxes of mugs and t-shirts.

Meanwhile, plenty of chinese people blagging they are in the UK.

I haven't really had much hassle on Etsy, no nightmare customers. I guess the "handmade" feel to Etsy means people appreciate things a bit more.

The "Personalisation" features are much better too.

I have been on Etsy for about 6 years and found I had to keep changing titles, tags etc to keep up with their changes. Eventually decided that I had enough of that, so for the last 18 months sales gradually dwindled, but as I wasn't putting any effort in the return was fine. Then boom, sales are up and out stripping eBay. So I might have to ignore it some more! Odd world.

Etsy sales are up.
December alone was £5.5k never been anywhere near that before not even on the whole of 2019.
EBay has done well for me too but I have had enough of it.

Im seriously considering ditching eBay for good, but the edible cupcake toppers sell very well on there @ £4 a set and they cost pennies to make.

Etsy does well for mugs and coasters for me but not much else.
