I'd have a good think about leaflets as you only tend to get around a 2% interest from them.

its basically to leave places and hand out when i do a car boot etc
they give more info that a business card so thought they would be handy

I would recommend Solopress, they are very reasonable and quick, I have found leaflets have brought in a reasonable amount of trade

and then the rest of the flyer in white with info and pics etc on there

Leaflets - coming to a landfill site near you soon.

Less than five percent are ever read, response rates are less than two percent, typically nearer the half a percent rate. You have to do the maths and evaluate whether you have anough profit in a product to be able to print up to two hundred leaflets to finance it.

Leaflets are best suited to high profit margin outfits like home improvements, or a launch of local event or premise launch. Others seldom get a return on their investment.

I suppose this would be a viable answer if printing was as expensive as many years ago - where as now, you can get 5,000 leaflets printed (double sided glossy a5) for about £75!

So, even if those 5,000 leaflets bring in 10 new customers who will spend £10 you're onto a winner as you'll have broken even and have new word or mouth!

We have had 'many' leaflets printed - all with a good outcome ....................... we know where to send them (area's wise) and when (weather wise) and it's ALWAYS worked for us!

Absolutely fab and cheap as chips. I use them for all my stuff and they've never let me down.

It's more the fact of the vagueness of how the thread starter was planning to implement them "its basically to leave places and hand out when i do a car boot etc they give more info that a business card so thought they would be handy".

Most car boot traders can only sell used items. Those selling new items can be removed by the organiser, trading standards, or someone from the local authority. Most car boot sales sell cheap tat and the typical client base at those venues are probably not into paying premium prices for personalised goods. To 'leave leaflets at places' usually means needing the permission of the person managing that space, which rules out libraries etc as you are promoting a commercial venture.

To maximise on leaflets you need to be more targeted and aim for the groups that are more likely to buy your product. Usually that means cold calling on people, explaining your service and leaving the leaflet as a sales tool. If you are planning on being at events, go for more upmarket events like craft fairs and county shows where people are more used to paying realistic prices.

i only wanted to know if anyone could recommend a printer lol
i have some ideas on what i'm going to do with them
its not putting through ppl's letter boxes, i want to print up a sample mug and coater and put them with a leaflet in places like vets etc
places where ppl go with an interest

every boot sale i have been to and i used to be a market trader actually doing car boots
i used to sell new stuff i never had second hand stuff at all, i then progressed into a shop and it was the worst thing i did lol

i earnt so much more doing the car boots with a much smaller expense

1-2-print.co.uk do 5000 A5 double sided leaflets on 135 gsm gloss for £69, its amazing how cheap printing has become. Even if 99% of your leaflets are failures - thats 50 new customers (or if you want to go with 99.5% fail rate as above - thats still 25) Marketing isnt all web driven despite what people believe. It's better to have a combined marketing strategy with web, print and social media playing to their own strengths - (sorry marketing rant over)

One of my neighbours did a car boot before Christmas and made over £1100 profit for about six hours work. Different local authorities have different enforcement on the selling of new items, but they are very strict in this part of the country. A former girlfriend was a council enforcement officer with a neighbouring authority and they were forever targeting car boots after complaints from local shop owners.

Some of the other people you can approach are those with service engineers and tradesmen to push the corporate clothing side and the more professional image angle. Car showrooms, local sports clubs. local pubs (for team promotions), specialist interest groups such as motorcycle clubs etc. Just remember that venues like vets may want a cut of the proceeds though.

To answer that question you have to decide what your selling proposition is. The usual marketing mix of who will buy your items, how they will buy them, when they will buy them and why they will buy them.

An online printing company, such as Printplace, is a good choice. Using your design specifications, online printers can provide you with high quality prints for an affordable price.

smitch, if you look at their other replies/post that may not be the case, just as you used to promote your hosting on some posts, before you took up being an official supplier ?

also they are in Canada, most of us are in the UK, unlike hosting the items flyer business cards etc would have to be posted, which would make them not such a good deal

Mrs maggot is right but... Smitch is reputable member with 100's valuable posts on his account. Also he never promote his hosting like "hey check those guys hosting out..." with 5cpost count. Iam with steve. Should ask justin first. M 2p....

smitch6

yes i did ask Justin before i said anything about my business
and as Paul said i posted and was active on here for a long time before i did so.

I'm inclined to agree with smitch.

Digging up old threads just to add a generic comment which just so happens to include their website URL in the signature speaks volumes about the poster's motives.

maybe he was using the search feature ?? as some of the other posts he has made look normal to me ??

i have ppl joining my forum all the time just to promote their sites.
i have a feature which stops them using a signature or sending PM's until the have posted 5 times
so guess what they post 5 times and then try and spam everyone bless em hey :)

Same here. Some random ppl joining. Diging old posts out just to get 10 posts count so they be able to post in for sale section :-)
