hi
im busy setting up a personalised gift shop...well i have 2 epson 1400's...i bought 2 ciss from coralgraph. Pigment ink in one for transfer printing onto dark and sub ink in the other for the subli tees and the gifts. I have briefly had both systems working but now the pigment ink 1400 is dumping blue ink all over the print..i mean a lot. Also the yellow has just stopped working. ive got rid of the bubbles that appeared overnight in the tube but still no print. I have exactly the same problem with the subink 1400. Dumping black ink all over and the yellow works one day then not the next.

Both 1400's are brand new...i put the supplied dyeink cart. in them both to see if it was the printer....but no they printed flawlessly.

Its defo the ciss systems , the ink or just me being a spanner and a complete noob.

Please could i ask for the help of the experts on this forum. Im desperate as im supposed to open Saturday and ive already delayed opening because of the problems im having.

EDIT
just read on another thread...i wonder if anyone could kindly provide me a link to a profile for the epson 1400...maybe this could be the problem...i dont know !!

thanks in advance

profile is not a problem in my opinion. please tell me one think. is you ciss on THIS SAME level as printer? or slightly rised?

hi paul

ive got it level , but initially when it start dumping ink it was higher.....i realised that it needs to be level so ive leveled it and im still having the same problem

as i raise and lower the reservoir , i can see the ink going back and forth...if i have it level there are air bubbles emerging from the cart. towards the res.. ive tried to get it so its balanced but this means raising it slightly

this is NO NO! always on this same level. you need to get rid off the bobbles while ciss is on this same level. rising it up is not a solution as in this way you will flood your printer and loos valuable ink.

so by "level" do you mean, the res standing on the same surface as the printer or do you mean the res slightly raised so its level with the cart. inside the printer??

the ciss should sit on the same worktop as the printer

Paul

same level as printer.

absolutely at my wits end here....i just cant seem to get the air out of the tubes..i suck it through with a seringe it all disappears...i put the bung back in and it creeps back up...ive made it far worse now as all the tubes have massive air in them

did you prime the carts 1st?
there's a lot of air in there and can be a pain to get out

If the Ciss is allowing air back in once you have filled the system them it sounds as though the ciss is leaking air. Have you contacted your supplier about this to get a replacement?

paul ive done a number of test prints on various items...ie tees, mugs and various subli stuff..with good results...but i need simplicity and reliability.

the thing is..the shop im opening isnt just personalised gifts. Its a photo studio as well as canvas prints, fine art prints and other related stuff.

the subby stuff is just one of maybe 4 aspects to the business and the subby stuff is the only aspect of the business im a total noob at.

Reflecting now i really should have gone for the ricoh method from the off. I intend to to a number of large car boot fair with the personised gifts on a weekly basis and lumping a working 1400 with ciss about will be a mission. But you live and learn.

the pressure is mounting and ive still got loads to do. I need a quick solution.

Ill still have the subby ink, two empty ciss and the 1400 in the background with the time to learn how to sort them and get them working.

When i sus it i can use them in the shop, but right now i need a speedy solution to get going as ive got a number of pre orders pending for the subby stuff.

needs must mate and tbh 300 yots is a small price to pay for me at the mo. 3 days to opening and im no where near ready. !! lol

get the ricoh then. ppl say that they work preety much out of the box most of the time so this is the way to go. where did you bought you inks from mate?

I agree with Paul, personally I use CIS/refil carts with no problems and once you get them right you'll be fine. Speak to Henry first, you can either PM him through the forum or email direct. Let me know if you need an email addy.
