it looks like your heat press is not hot enough! how do you know if this press reach the wanted temp??? have you got it displayed on the screen?

there is no temp display.....there is only a timer....it says when you 1st turn it on... put a blank mug in and leave on for 250 seconds ..then put in your mug with the transfer for 180 seconds which is what i have done....and it seams to work on the 1st mug but the 2nd mug is faint....the instruction say for the 2nd mug there is no need to do a 250second warm up....but i have tried to do this just incase the machine had lost a bit heat............i have even heated up a mug but still get the same result

I would have thought a temp gauge is a must, timer you could do externally but if you don't know the temp it'll be tricky. I borrowed a laser temp gun from work to test my presses, about £50 to buy but proved really useful...and interesting. I think it's going to be really hard to eliminate other problems unless you're 100% sure the press is up to temp.

i have upped the time now to 230 seconds from 180 and have done 2 mugs both look good ....so am thinking it needed longer.........i have noticed the edge of the paper that sticks out over the mug started to go brown (i could smell it) so maybe i should wait for this to happen then i know its had long enough to heat up??

As it seems to be a fixed temperature press I'd find the minimum time needed to produce a consistently good result and go with that.
Any longer and you'll be wasting time and electrickery.
