Are you referring to any particular cutter? Mine works through CorelDraw and other software.

We use a craftrobo and the software that comes with it, you can sometimes down load the drivers/software from the manufactures website.

You wouldn't use photoshop to run a cutter, it would be pointless. The cutter would come with its own software and even the cheapest Artcut is fine to use.

You can use photoshop to create your artwork - using different layers for each colour if multi-layering.

Then export each layer as a jpeg and load into the craft robbo software to cut.

I know that some may see this as a bit of a pain but I do it this way all the time and it's also good as I can print out a proof copy of the artwork to show the customer through photoshop (showing all the colours) and once it's cut it'll be an exact match.

The only plotter/cutter that can use jpegs is the robbo.

Doing it in photoshop, saving as a jpeg then relying on another software to convert it to a vector seems a really long way round, but if it works - it works. I just use the software that comes with the cutter or design it in coreldraw.

Cheers John

i wish my craft robo used PS
it would make life so much easier, i have been playing with it for the last few weeks and it's not easy at all
i did a transfer the other day G6 INDUSTRIES and i couldn't get the cutter to cut the inside of the letters for love nor money
luckily it's just for my nephew and they are practise pieces for him to see what his designs look like but i would love to figure out how to use the silhouette software properly

none of the software can use jpeg to cut. only when you trace it manualy as a layer but this is not the jpg any more ;)

I use Corel as well but have a plug in so can cut direct from Corel without having to go into other software.

I had the coreldraw plugin but couldn't get away with it having to put an outline on everything all the time.
