Will be looking for a package in the next few weeks, cards letterheads etc. Does anyone specialise in doing these? Please PM prices and product details.

I'll also be looking at supplying other local companies so would be interested in contracting out.

Looking at getting my own cards printed. Been looking at raised print which would work very well with my logo, anyone know of a decent company offering this? Just want something a little different....tried the plastic cards, no good at trade shows as can't staple to enquiry forms! lol.

how about paperclips?

Justin

I still like the look of the thin transparent business cards, very effective, especially with metallic print.

I was just reading about alternatives to business cards, some very clever ideas. It got me thinking, I know you can sublimate metal sheet business cards, is there any thin Unisub product available for this?

Been to 2 different companies now and both have made a mess of my business cards. Really need a printer that will print my logo using a pantone/hks reference. Googled a few but would prefer to go somewhere that can be recommended!

I'm looking for a cool/cheesy business card idea - my last ones were scalloped circles - cos I'd finally got round to them .... I was thinking of something from Jaws with, "this time it's personal" tagline but not sure I want to be a shark!
The transparent cards are really cool looking, especially with the apertures cut out. Are they expensive?

Justin

I found some really thin plastic cards on eBay for a great price. Quality is good but not on a par with thicker plastic. Plastic isn't that expensive really. What about having one edge serrated like teeth?! I found some really cool, quirky cards whilst I was looking. In terms of quality samples the best I got were from Blush...but very expensive.

Hi Justin

I've used these ones in the past and had some great results http://www.megauk.com/sublimation/sublimation-plastic-business-cards.php

Would you not be there all week printing a run of these though?

Andrew
12-11-2011, 01:50 PM
Justin. I've got a great printer I use everyweek for various runs. Pantones should be fine and he can do short runs always at a decent cost. If you still need someone let me know.

I thought it was strange no-one supplied these, seemed like an obvious thing to do. Thanks for the link. Might have a go with these, useful for short run work.

Justin

Well it appears Lithograph would be the ideal route for my cards but at 5 times the price of digital it's a much bigger investment! A printer is running a few colour tests on digital for me to see if we can get a match.

Anyone know what weight the MegaUK cards are? I assume credit card but maybe thinner. I wonder if they're double sided? £7 delivery on 100 cards is very high...if I want it to my door it's £25! You also have to order over £30 worth of stuff! Deary me.

Hi Justin, If your worried about a certain colour reproduction i'd be surprised if digital is the way to go, especially with the drop in quality.

Justin
18-11-2011, 03:06 PM
Yeah, I'll probably just get litho done and get it right. I have a close cmyk match that works when I print myself, normal and subli....it just doesn't work for large format!

Justin

I received a surprise package in the post y/day. A run of business cards form the company Andrew recommended to me, Scubaprint (http://www.scubaprint.com).

I was only expecting them to run a few tests to try and get a good colour match! The colour they have produced digitally is perfect for my cards. I'd expected to have to go Litho to achieve this so I'm seriously impressed.

I'd recommend anyone looking at getting business cards etc. printed take a look at their website www.scubaprint.com. Prices are keen and my first impression of the product and service couldn't be better.
