Hi! I dont know why you cant print full wrap but settings r right. about 190c for 190 sec. 11oz mug template should have about 9.5cmx22cm for full wrap. It may sounds stupis but is your press hot enough when you placeing the mug in?

thanx

yeah...im using Signal as well. I take it no one else uses it no?

To me the print seems awfully saturated as in lots of ink!

My template was 8x3.5" i think the height is to much and im chopping off .25" now.

Is Trupix th sub-dye preffered choice then?

cheers
D.

sorry for the hijack thread, im getting mixed results too.

i prefer truepix myself some use texprint but quality always is best .what do you mean by saturated is this on the paper or after you have printed the mug? if its on the paper check what paper type you have selected in your printer it should be matt really if its after the mug is printed play around with the settings and pressures . Ive just uploaded a lesson in general chat which may help you

Is your mug wrap tight enough and holding the paper against the mug all the way around?

yes it is tight around the mug,but is just not doing up the sides of the mug handle fully, ill keep trying & let you know how i get on,only got 10 mugs left, wish me luck,haha.......

I wonder if your heat is being drawn away by the handle mass - acting like a heat sink if you know what I mean.

Perhaps increase the heat in one of your attempts.

how far from the handles you can print? some press just cant do it. most of the cheap ones can print about 1.5cm from handle on each side.

i am printing my template out at 3 1/2" height & 8 1/2" width, but cannot really explain it,it prints to the mug fine around most of the mug but seems to not stick to the mug around the top or bottom or sides of the handle's as well as he rest of the mug, there seems to be more ink still left on the paper ??,ill have another few attempts tomorrow & let you know how i get on...thanks all....

The ink should sit on the shiny surface of the paper, if it's saturating you won't get a good image, you're wasting ink and your paper probably isn't suitable :-)

Personally I wouldn't use cheap papers. I did test a few cheaper ones a few years back with dire results.
I have always used Xpres, it's cheap by comparison and gives excellent images.
That said, Sawgrass recently informed me that they ONLY recommend TruePix for use through the Ricoh 5050 so I'll be trying that.

How warm are your mugs when they go in, the bottom of the mug is going to take longer to heat up.
How close to the handle are you trying to get?

I also had the same problem top and bottom and I made the image slighly smaller from the top and bottom and that worked,
