Looking for a cheap'ish camera for the missus :-) She just wants a small point and shoot camera, something quick and easy to use, nothing flash or overcomplicated....oh....and pink if possible!

Seen loads on the net for £50-£60 but wondered if anyone could recommend anything please?

We have a small Samsung at the moment and I'm far from impressed so won't be going that route.....Kodak.....Fuji....Sony...?

sony gives you lovely picture. Kodak is good as you can replace battery with standard 2xAA if run out of power on the trip. But will eat that batery very quick ;)

I got a free 8MP vivitar with my Brother printer. Picture quality was so bad that I gave up with it.

That said, my 5-year old niece really liked her birthday present this year!

Hi Justin,
I saw this, not pink but ideal as you get the case and card.
http://direct.asda.com/Nikon-L23-Compact-Camera-with-Case-and-4GB-SD-Card---Black/000631122,default,pd.html?purl=offeroftheday&cm_mmc=afc-_-Direct-_-offeroftheday-_-text

At £39 its a bargain for a point n shoot.

A good place to browse this time of the year is the Argos Clearance on eBay : http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Argos-Outlet

It's the legitimate Argos outlet, so the seller's as good as Argos themselves. I bought a number of items from them last year (Bluetooth speakers, a watch, etc). You may find a quality camera for a decent price, rather than putting up with a sub-quality camera just because it's in-budget.

I've looked on the argos ebay outlet, there are some bargains but most of the goods are reconditioned - for the cost of a cheap camera these days i'd want brand new.

The refurb market is often a good place to find bargains. Many times the word is used simply because, legally, the items can't be sold as "new". The item may just have been returned because the customer changed his mind (under the DSR, for instance), or a discontinued line. Refurb can be as good as new. I've bought several refurb items from different legitimate outlets (Amazon, Argos, Apple, etc), and everything's been as good as new - except for the packaging which has ranged from almost new to replaced.

By all means investigate the product, the price, the condition, and the seller, but don't be put off just because of a word.

I have a Nikon Coolpix P50 which is a superb little camera. You can't go far wrong with Fuji as they always seem to get very good reviews.

The Gadget Show reviewed £50 cameras last week. They reckoned that the Nikon Coolpix was best value. But I'll stick with my SLRs

Reckon I'll go with that great find by John there, can't go wrong at that price inc. a card and case :-)

Thanks again folks!
