Doesn't sound like a blockage. Sounds like the ink not reaching the printhead. Seen it on my previous Brother printer when using dye-sub inks. One quick head clean pulls the ink through to where it needs to be, and everything's hunky-dory again.

Not sure why it happens. Haven't seen it happen on my current printer, or on my A3 printer that uses regular dye ink. Could be a quirk of the cartridges.

Definately something quirky!

Probably a bit of constipation.
