Seems like a very good price. I see there are a few companies selling for a few pound more but add postage.

Typical low-capacity toner cartridges. I wouldn't buy that printer if it came with a free £10 note in the box.

Toners seem to be around £35-£40, I didn't think that was too bad......more fool me eh?

Only 1,500 page capacity. You'd forever be replacing it. Used to get 7,000-10,000 pages out of a black toner. Anything less than 4,500 pages just isn't worth it.

The printer itself only comes with a 700 page toner, so expect to buy a new one immediately. And then another one a fortnight later.

My bad then :-( I didn't look at the toner details, it's good to discuss these things though. not always as cheap as they seem. BTW.....I haven't bought one, just thought it maybe of interest.

I've been bitten too often with laser printers, and that's despite once creating a spreadsheet of cost of ownership across a range of lasers.

Sad to say it but laser printers have gone from being the workhorse printer into being the "light use" printer. If you don't use your printer much, and you're concerned of blockaging with a cheap inkjet, then a laser is an option - but don't buy one expecting to use it frequently unless you happen to have an unlimited bank balance.

They're the complete opposite to what they used to be. Crazy world.

Slightly off topic, but if anyone is looking for a cheap inkjet printer (including printing costs) then how about a Ricoh GXe3300 with 10+ sets of ink cartridges just for the price of the printer? The Ricoh GXe3300 would need to be bought via us and we'd include a minimum of 10 extra sets of ink cartridges with the printer (40 extra cartridges in total) plus the 4 it comes with. This is NOT sublimation ink and is the ordinary ink cartridges that come with the printer as standard.

What price Martin? Would this be 10 sets that are supplied with the 3300 but taken out when used for sublimation?

The printers cost around £149.00 including VAT and including next day delivery would take the total to a round figure of £159.00. Yes the cartridges are the same that come with the printer as new. I don't know how many sets we have but we could do several printers if more than one person wants the deal. The cartridges are only collecting dust in the warehouse.

Edit: Delivery quoted above is for mainland UK delivery. As this is offered at cost then the delivery costs will be higher in Shetland (sorry Justin) and other far flung places!

Got any 5050 carts gathering dust there Martin? ;-)

I don't know that there are any differences with the GXe3300/ GX5050/ GX7000 starter cartridges, but I have no way of testing this anymore.

To make life easier with delivery costs, I've uploaded a brief page of this offer online:
http://www.printerowners.co.uk/special-offers/687/ricoh-gxe3300-10-sets-of-std-carts.htm

If this needs to be be moved to FOR SALE then please do so.

I have a 3350 here but the 5050 carts are different....they look the same but the little notches don't align up and are slightly different. I believe the 3300 takes same carts as 3350 so no good for my ageing 5050 I guess :-(

Unfortunately, I paid a massive £10 for ink last January and I still have half of it left a year later.

Ask me again in another year...:wink: I might have run out by then...

Hi Martin - how much would you sell a set of cartridges for? I was really impressed with my 3300 (bought for sublimation) and bought a 3350 for general printing - so a spare set of cartridges for the 3350 would be good!

Just let me know when you place an order in the future and I'll include a set free of charge.

Thanks Martin - That's really helpful :-)

I need to place an order next week so I'll drop you a message once I've placed the online order.
