Hi. I just going to have another go with rhinestones. got few 1000's left so i am going to do few test :)
so question is: how do you do 2 or more color designs? do you place them all at once or each color got different templates and you apply it one after the other??

Hi Paul,

I would create different templates for the various colours and then you have to heat press them individually. Ive seen some videos on you tube with different colours.

Tell me, which rhinestone program are you using Paul?

Cheers

Hi Dave!
I got Funtime Rhinestone.

Hi Paul,

I looked at Funtime a while ago. Is it easy to use? its so cheap compared to other programs. I saw this>
http://www.digitalartsolutions.com/software/stonecutpro.php

They want crazy money for that program and funtime is $49!

Do you get the same results? also, what do you use for stencils? ive been told to use a Laser engraving material which is about 2mm deep and ive also read that you can use Flock vinyl as well because its also deep and much cheaper.

any help is good Paul ;)

Cheers mate

Yes. It has. After you simulaylating design it will tell you how many stones will be used. But make sure u 100% sure about this software as licence is only single computer use. So i you decide to upgrade computer or restore to day u bought it u wont instal it again. Licence wont work.

I never try corel plug in but if i knew about his plug in before i would go for it. I realy like funtme bt lcence is iseles i you format your pc or buy jew one. Also it looks bot amateurish.

Edit: just read that rstone has this same crap licence. No worth a penny imo. I think if you pay for something you should be able to keep it....

yep, thats my problem.....kinda p'd off with both of em because of the stupid license issues.....
I also believe if you pay for any software - its YOURS....to do what ya want with it, so to speak !

any other software you or anyone else can recommend ?

ps....

i am in the process of building a new PC just for my printing work anyway - just to keep work related things away from the ususl crap we do/see on the net.....but if the HDD's on the new pc bugger up, for any reason, i have lost the licence...thats just plain stupid...AND GREED, from the companys involved !

Paul
15-02-2012, 11:48 AM
Yep. And you can not even baxk it up :-( as licence key use hdd serial number.

bigj2552
15-02-2012, 12:51 PM
and if you think thats bad - just read over on another forum from a user of funtime rhinestones -

"it won't run if you do not have internet access as it cannot check the license key / serial number" - i have "always on" internet anyway....but thats not the point !

what the hell ?

thats one off my list...next !

Paul
15-02-2012, 12:56 PM
Haha... I said its amateur ish dd i... They can not made decent security for they own software so we have to have internet on non stop :-(

another option paul - Winpcsign Pro 2012 http://heatpressvinyl.3dcartstores.com/Winpcsign-Pro-2012_p_114.html

$250 = £159 but then, its yours to keep.
also...funtime you cant cut from - this software you can :-)

stonecut pro is another - http://www.thetransferpress.co.uk/acatalog/smartcut-pro.html
WHY dont any of the selling sites give you a dam price for this software ?
is it THAT EXPENSIVE ?

chongsta

pro version of funtime...

i never noticed this before....
the upgrade i was looking at was this -
http://www.funtimescrapbooking.com/software/Funtime_2010.aspx

so what you paying extra $20 for in rhinestones pro ? - just the dongle?
what the differance from them asking for an internet connection to verify the software - to a dongle, thats still gonna have to connect to the net i presume.......confused.com !

the full thing @ $98 does cutting as well as other things...

does anyone have the full program on here ?

made my mind up...finally...sort of....

going with either - rstones macro for corel x5
or
draw stones for corel x5

either way, they are no where near the silly cash the other software titles want....and are just as good as the bigger programs.
but i dont know - i,m still a newbie at this lol..time will tell

corel marco its $49.99 = £31 approx with the restictions you mentioned

same price as your funtime.

difference with funtime pro is dongle right ? = $69

difference with funtime pro 2010 = $98 ???

Im toying between the normal version and the pro version!

Paul, you're using the normal version yes? can you see any reason i should get the Pro version compared to whats in the normal version?

also, the shipping of the Pro version is $60 !!! rip off big time for a dongle and a CD, the proper price comes in at £98 all in.

The normal versions terms have changed,
Valid on 1 computer
Can be transfer to another computer (3 times only)
Valid for the current software version
Valid if you re-install the software
Valid if you re-install an operating system
The activation process require a Internet connection

Does this mean i can use it on 2 pc's at the same time? (home and work) or does it mean i can only use it upto 3 times on 3 PC's? or one?

I can use my Versacamm and Illustrator to cut, so i dont need the cutting option at all and im not even sure if my Roland is suppported anyway.

Whats anyones opinion on this? should i just bite the bullet and go for the pro version and be done with? I assume i can use the Pro version on 2 PC's but of course only with the bleeding dongle!!

anyone :) ?? argggggggggg

Hi! I dont know what else you would need as I done all my design with few mouse clicks :) I know that if you want to use other functions of this software then you need to upgrade to deluxe version. but this is for things like auto vector, w.y.s.i.w.y.g and other useless stuff that you wont need for rhinestones. its for people that do lot of craft things... Funtime cant cut any way buddy. what you do is exporting to PLT (cutter language format) or winpcg and then cutting from your usual software. after licence change I would recommend the funtime rhinestones version.

regards to licence i dont think you would be able to use this on 2 pc's. you would be blocked. new licence mean that when you have some trouble and need format your hdd or upgrading your pc then you can install your licence up to 3 times.

this is madness! I need the program on my work PC during the day to make the templates and i need the program on my home PC for the night when i want to do designs!

Ive never come across such an incredibly stupid license in all of my days on the web. Im off to grab Corel and use that plugin that pauls recommended...cheers Paul

Paul,

it seems that its cheaper to buy 2 seperate versions of the software for 2 different computers, than to buy the Pro version with dongle! how stupid is that? :P

you recommend the NORMAL rhinestone program yes - $49? not the deluxe or the 2010 version - $69?

1 more thing.,..can you export in EPS format from the normal rhinestones program?

cheers Paul
Dave

Paul
28-02-2012, 08:41 PM
yes! i know what you mean Dave!

I am talking about normal rhinestone version for $49. is good but basic. everything is done for you automaticly. if you dont like some stones layout then you can move them with mouse. but in rstone so many options! i actually using it now!

and yes. you can export to eps or hpl that is read by every cutter.

Hi paul,

yes that rStones is far better but again a stupid license! I would prefer the rStones but if i format my pc (which is due!) then i have to buy again.

I'll stick with Funtime for now, i only need basic controls and if it does what you say then i think thats all i need.

what advantages are you getting with rStones?

cheers

there is one :)
... all the basics work in demo mode :) so you can create stencils and cut them with no restrictions. only restrictions are for more flshy features in rstones :)

yeah dav! dont know how long this demo will work but i got it for about week or two and still working. you can use it for simple rhinestone designs like funtime. then you click make stencil and job done. now save it for your cutter file and off you go :D
