i have just bought 2 chromalux medium wall mounted photo frames and i am trying to find out what the the heatpress times are for these as they dont have a press time on the bms website.

I was doing them for 60sec. 200C.

thanks for that paul i had done some smaller ones last year but when i took them out of the press they had what looked like white moisture marks on them any ideas just before i go and press these 2 frames im using heat proof paper below the frame and on top of the frame.

If you are worried about moisture it might be worth pre-pressing them blank before printing.

Hi Hakuna,

For what it's worth, I usually use 200°C and the time is dependant on the size...

8x12" - 70 seconds
11x14" - 80 seconds
11.7x11.7" - 80 seconds
16x20" - 120 seconds
16x24" - 140 seconds

The biggest thing to bear in mind is that your press MUST lock home on the panel. Simply leaning on the handle will not give you enough consistant pressure to properly cook the panel! As I think I say to everybody - check that your press will accomodate it before you buy. Another useful one to bear in mind is that they can warp in a similar fashion as placemats - I usually flip them upside down after pressing, and place a pack of tiles on the back until cold. I've also had a fair amount of success with just letting them flatten out under their own wait - but this does take a couple of days...
