Hey everyone :) I've been having problems with my 5050n I got it just before Christmas and since that time I've had nothing but problems with getting the right dye sub paper, then getting Dye sub inks :/ and eventually got all the right equipment tried to make a T-shirt and the colour was all wrong. Black is coming out green the red is coming out faded pink and the yellow looks neon. At first I wasn't getting any colours coming through at all and the people I bought the Dye Sub cartridges off sent me 2 RGB colour profiles for me to install, so I did and I finally got some colour, but it's the colours mentioned above :( So since Christmas my printer has been sitting gathering dust and my heat press hasn't been turned on.

Any advice on how to sort the colour problem out would be awesome

thanks for your time. Look forward to your replies.

Hi Iain, What inks are you using, where did you get them from, whats the profile, are you using xp/vista/7 and what program are you printing from?

Hey John thanks for your reply. I got the inks from Sawgrass Europe the inks are Commercial use only SubliJetR for use with GX5050n/GX7000. I'm not sure what the RGB profiles are as I lost them when I replaced my computer. When I bought the inks I was sent out an installation CD with them, but it was for the GX700 not the GX 5050n so I had to phone up and ask them to issue me with a new CD and they sent me the RGBs by e-mail. I'm currently using Vista & 7 soon. My Laptop is running Vista 32 bit and that was the one I was using for the printing, but my new computer arrives on the 12th and it is running 7 64bit & the new computer is the one I will be using from now on. I've been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 and Corel Draw X3. I forgot to mention earlier when I print out a picture it comes out fine.

I hope this helps
Thanks again

Hi Iain,
Click through on the link below and at the foot of that page is a guide to (a) setting up the GX5050 and (b) a link to Sawgrass website for their support documents. From the Sawgrass page you can download the ICC profile and instruction guides on how to set up the software and the printer. I'd suggest you print these out, grab a cuppa and have a browse through first and then install the printer from scratch again:-

hi Brett here long suffering gx 5050n owner
ive had real probs with my 5050n but seem to have just about got it right now. main problem i found was the profiles for the 5050n do not like 64bit computers.the profiles from sawgrass work fine on my 32 bit laptop running xp but i have a vista pc 64 bit not good on their and a 64 bit laptop which also is a nightmare to get right. The best route i found was following instructions from the conde website.
Good luck and for those about to print we salute you
Brett
