was cleaning monitor last night....damp cloth only...fine no probs.

came across a bit that wouldnt come off right in the center.....

FOOLISHLY i tryed to scrap it GENTLY/LIGHTLY off with a blunt instrument....

aye - you know whats coming dont ya ?
bloody big scratch right down the center of my monitor - about 1" long

feel like a right rodney plonker for doing this - i know better to, thats the thing .
was late in the small hrs - ( couldnt sleep again )

i heard it can be fixed with vasline lol - is it true ?

but on the other hand.......
Justin your a bad man lol......was reading his thread about 28" monitors a while back ....well....
there is a nice 27"HD Monitor for sale just now for only £170 incl delivery.

Been browsing monitors myself (as you've probably gathered). I love the idea of these crazy things: http://us.aoc.com/monitor_displays/e2251fwu Both power and video via the same USB cable. No power cable, no VGA cable, just USB.

I wonder what they're like in practice?

Try buffing it out with a little toothpaste.

Are there three stripes across the screen? One is fresh and one is minty and the other is to protect....sorry, couldn't resist :-)

cheers for this......

Don't know if it works though, but the vaseline and rubbing alcohol theory makes sense.
