I appreciate this is probably asked a lot on here and you are probably used to it now but i am not sure what cutter/plotter to get.

I have seen so many which vary alot in price from cheap chinese to super expensive.

does anyone have any opinions on this

or anything else cheaper or better but please bare in mind i am only just starting out and dont want to spend thousands on something that may not work out etc.

Thanks for your time

Should be able to buy those for £200. It's a basic Chinese cutter, I have pretty much the same model they just seem to get re-badged. Not used mine much, it's usually ok when I do get to use it but it doesn't compare with the likes of Roland and Graphtec.....then again it's very cheap!

As you're just starting out it may be a good idea, get you used to vinyl cutting and see how it goes. Bear in mind no optical eye on these so transfers etc. more difficult.

it will do the job. but you need proper software for it.

cheaper:

get this software with it and you will be ready to crack on :)

it's funny, if you read the write up for the first machine it knocks the 720 saying it's much better. The 721 is the same as the 720 with a "supposed" optical eye on it (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

I have the 721 and I'll tell you for nothing, it's not an optical eye and it won't work for long!

I paid less than £200 and got the stand and software included but as I've mentioned on here before I won't recommend the seller.

they should NOT use "optical eye" name as its not :)
this is simple laser bim to help you adjust the knife when contour cutting. but is useless as its on some kind of screw and is all over the place :D you better off do that by judging by your eyes :D

Exactly, tbh I reckon it's just an led on this one :-( Oh I miss my Roland...that said, I don't do much vinyl nowadays so can't justify it.

Not being a user of flexisign - does this software work on any cutter? We have a 600mm wide cutter (new and boxed) but no software. We have the same model working with winPCsign basic but the boxed cutter needs software. Would flexisign work?

There is two diferent flexistqteters. One is oem for one brand. And one is much more expensive foe mpst cutters. But yes. Thos sogtwate can work with any cutter if you have driber for it.

Depends on what size you want to cut, but as a starter cutter, with an optical eye, the Cameo is an excellent piece of kit.
