Everytime I click the 'Submit New Thread' button, the page freezes for a while followed by a message at the bottom of the screen offering the opportunity to Recover Webpage! If I select to recover the webpage I'm presented with the empty message box and all I typed is lost!!!

I've become so used to this occuring that I now copy what I've typed prior to clicking the button as I KNOW it will happen!!!

Any ideas?

fine for me... what browser are you using and have you cleared you temp internet files recently...

also if you are using internet explorer does it have any addons enabled... if so disable them all and see if it still happens..

Justin, I've been having the same problems as John but, not all the time. I thought it was just me.

I'm using the latest version of Explorer with all updates and it only happens on this forum. I have addons and I will try disabling them next time.

I've become so used to the problem I now select all, copy, allow the recover webpage to happen and paste. :) It was so annoying at the beginning as I'd type a long reply and lose the lot!

I had the same issue submitting a reply for the first time yesterday and put it down to perhaps something I had open in another tab. I do however often have issues editing posts I make as I click on the save button and nothing happens. I just put this down to usual IE issues.

Still checking this out. I've seen similar problem on another forum but appeared to be related to IE. Possible issue with Adobe Shockwave and/or automatic update on Adobe products......possible.

today, i have DSF on a tab as always in my favs, click on it, click new posts - fine, click this one, and it takes nearly a min to load - i timed it at 49secs, the whole of FF freezes until the post comes up, bottom left hand corner it says "waiting for dyesubforum.co.uk" its like this on every post i click on - i have other forums open, and every other one is ok. i did an auto update of adobe other otherday maybe they are confliciting

Does it seem to be occurring at the same time daily? Or is it random? It could be that the forum is updating or making an auto-backup. Maybe Justin could answer that one.

No changes made recently that could cause this, auto backups are in place but again this has always been the case.

I need to see exactly which browsers are affected and anyone who has an issue disables all add ins in browser to see if this helps. Also need to know if they auto update Adobe products.

Do you use Chrome as well? I've never seen this issue at all and I does seem somewhat isolated, did you get the problem prior to upgrading to IE9?

Don't worry about it Justin, I can live with it :) There's so much going on under the bonnet of my PC, it could be anything!

Cheers

I'll look at the auto backups, if there's any way folk could give me a time when they have the problem that would help immensely :-)

Backup is set to run every 3 hours and will therefore run again at 3pm today, if you can take a look and see if anything happens around then that would be good. The backup is pretty quick though so I wouldn't expect any issues.
