Well, the forum name seems to have been accepted quite well. Just looking at registering a domain name and would appreciate your input. Starting to look towards hosting etc. Not something I know an awful lot about so it'll be a steep learning curve.
The DSF name was a bit of a bad choice in this respect as anything DS related is taken by Nintendo related sites!
I can get any of the following. I would prefer a .com but please let me know your thoughts.
www.thedsforum.co.uk (http://www.thedsforum.co.uk)
www.thedsf.co.uk (http://www.thedsf.co.uk)
www.thedsforum.com (http://www.thedsforum.com)
www.dyesubforum.co.uk (http://www.dyesubforum.co.uk)
www.dsforum.org.uk (http://www.dsforum.org.uk)
Justin :-)
I know this is a forum but is that must to have "forum" word in domain name?
there is nice domain avaliable me.uk instad co.uk so you can do anything with it :)
ie. sublimate.me.uk
and is cheap :)
this is only my opinion :P
if not my favorite is www.dyesubforum.co.uk (http://www.dyesubforum.co.uk) - it simply says who we r.
What about www.dyesubbers.com (http://www.dyesubbers.com) ?
Near as I can tell, both .com and .co.uk are still available.
If not, out of the choices you list, I'm with Paul. www.dyesubforum.co.uk (http://www.dyesubforum.co.uk) says what it is. Although, personally, I'd avoid any domain name if someone else already has the more popular version.

Worth a look JSR. Yes, always a bit of a shame to settle for something.co.uk when something.com is already taken!

Paul, not keen on me.ukm feel that this is better for an individual. Certainly worth looking at something a little less obvious. I would prefer a .com, not worried about cost as it isn't great shakes between the domain extensions anyway really.
I'm favouring www.thedsforum.com (http://www.thedsforum.com) at the moment but early days.

i do like dsforum but as mentioned earlier "ds" may make people think that it is to do with nintendo and that this is a forum for nintendo ds users. may cause some problems.
dyesubforum for me as" it is what it is"
"ds" I agree with castlegategiftcreations (phew thats a long name!)I would associate immediately with Nintendo.
out of the bunch I'd prefer:
www.dyesubforum.co.uk (http://www.dyesubforum.co.uk) (.com looks as though it's already taken)

I'm favouring that one myself. Bit miffed the .com is gone as I'd like that as well. Otherwise it would be thedsforum.com but I agree with other comments that this sounds Nintendo related!
Any other comments before we move forward?
Justin :-)
Yes the ds bit could lead to some confusion - I agree with castlegategiftcreations.

I've put a divert onto www.dyesubforum.co.uk (http://www.dyesubforum.co.uk) so if you enter this address it will bring you to the forum.
Just thought this might be easier if you wanted to give the url to anyone, link to it etc.
I will be sorting the hosting etc. asap but we're getting there!
Justin :-)
