I have been trawling through the web for the last week trying to find sublimation profiles for my old Epson S20 printers. T shirts come out ok but mugs seem to be printing my blues out in purple. I have been looking around and found out I need color profiles, but can't seem to find one for my printer. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. BTW the ink im using is Lyson sublimation ink.

Thanks again Mick. 8-)

Sawgrass don't support the S20 so there aren't any profiles for that Epson printer from them. You'll need to go back to your supplier of the Lyson sublimation ink to see how they deal with colour management as that will probably be the only place you'll get support for that ink (if they support that specific printer).

... or you can order custom made profile for your printer. cost is about 25 pounds.

As I understand it, Sawgrass hold the patent for dye-sublimation ink used with a desktop printer. Any supplier who's selling non-Sawgrass ink for use in a desktop printer without permission from Sawgrass is infringing the Sawgrass' IP. Don't expect them to be around for very long.

In the case of Revolution, I believe they sell Lyson ink for use in large format printers (not desktop printers). They're unlikely to be able to help you to use non-Sawgrass ink in a desktop printer unless they wish to risk the wrath of Sawgrass.

All suppliers would like to sell non-Sawgrass dye-sub ink for desktop printers at lower prices but they can't if they want to stay legal.

If you do a search on the web theres lots of companies using this ink http://www.marrutt.com/lyson-profiles.php so I presume they have a license or importing it from somewhere else.

Marrutt do sell Lyson ink, but not Lyson sublimation ink. Their Lyson inks are specialist inks for photography, e.g. they have various black Lyson inks for printing true B&W images. They also sell Lyson ink in bulk for continuous feed systems or refill cartridges for certain printers (we used to supply Marrutt with some refillable cartridges for Canon and Epson printers) but they don't do Sublimation inks. Lyson inks do not mean sublimation inks and in Marrutt's case it's definately normal dye based or pigment inks for standard printing. The Lyson profiles are used for photographic matching to their inks - a bit like a speciality RIP software.
