Is that a black base to the mdf coaster and what mm thickness please?
Yes the lower cost coasters have a black base, and they're just a fraction thicker than the Unisub ones, at about 3.2mm.Quote:

They're a new product, and from what we've seen so far they're not as consistent as Unisub, the quality control isn't quite as good, it's generally a cheaper product, but to be fair they are 23% cheaper.
They require pressing at a bit of a lower temp than Unisub, around 170-180C, and they do come with a plastic cover which has caught a few people out, although we're told that in the future they're going to remove the plastic sheet.

Yes some people did prefer the straight edge laser cut, the budget coasters are cut in the same way as the UK made ones were, but the board isn't quite as nice quality. Still, they are a good product for the price.Quote:
