One of my fans/ motors is struggling to kick in when switched on, but will eventually power up. Not sure if its a thermostat or motor issue.
Has anyone had a similar problem with their BC-01?

Not seen this before, wonder if it could just be blocked with dust or sausage roll crumbs? ;-)
If its stuggling to power up but is trying its possible that is a bad motor (my laser has a fan doing the same thing) rather than a bad thermostat as if it was the thermostat it woudlnt try to start, I think
I'd guess it's the motor. I don't think the thermostat would even control the fans (they will just be activated when the power is on), otherwise they would be dipping in and out when the element was switched on/off by the thermostat.
100% the motor.
a thermostat is just a switch who's on and off mechanism is controlled by heat.
If it was sporadically switching on and off then yes But struggling to start means a winding in the motor or an issue with the brushes.
personally I would take the motor out and give it a good spray with ipa fluid and spin it by hand. Let it dry out and refit and test.
If that doesn’t work then a new motor isn’t overly expensive.
I took the front and back off to see if anything was blocking the motor. Gave it a good dusting, but everything seemed to be moving freely. Put the oven on full blast and burnt off all the dried ink. Nothing helped.
So I plugged it into the other side of the double wall socket and it seems to be behaving itself so far...faulty socket I reckon.
Just an update if anyone was remotely interested! But the oven worked fine for a week again, then wouldn't start up properly. Bought a new Blizzard....the motors run very smooth and quiet in comparison. Repairs were going to be £100 plus VAT for the call out, plus the same for a new motor and he'll probably drag that work out for two hours. The Blizzard lasted four years.
