Plotter cutter problem - it behaves like crazy.

Hey guys!
I have a GOLDCUT JK721 plotter cutter. Everything was fine until I decided to reinstall my system (Windows 7 64bit). We use Illustrator only with SignCut Pro 1 (tried also SignCut v2).
The problem is, that after fresh install of Win7, almost every time I try to cut something, somewhere in the process (in the middle... at the end of it... it happens randomly) plotter gets crazy and makes a looong cut through the whole project destroying it (or some other strange cuts). I've lost already more than £100 on vinyls because of that :(
I've reinstalled system 3 times and the problem still occurs. I'm loosing my patience and... money.
Do you have any idea what is causing this problem and maybe how to fix it? We didn't have such problem before :(

I forgot to mention, that I've tried to export projects to many different formats including EPS. No difference.

reinstall your usb drivers. and try different usb/printer cable.

Tried that, with few different wires. Same result.

Have you instales drivers again? Also what com number it shows you?

Of course I did. Also a few times. It shows COM3 when I plug in plotter.

When you reinstalled W7 did you make sure that all the updates were installed as well ?. If a completely clean install then motherboard drivers, graphics card etc will all have to be sorted.

Well, from what I remember, I think previously I've installed plotter after a full Windows update. This time, because I was in a hurry, I've installed plotter first, than I updated the system.

Sorry for late reply, but I am really busy.
Just wanted to let you know what was the problem. It was nothing else, than a wrong configuration. You can setup any plotter cutter in two ways:
1. Install USB drivers than add your plotter as a printer (than you are using spool service).
2. Install USB drivers and add plotter through your COM port.

If you use first option you must bear in mind, that if you are cutting big and/or complicated designs, your are going to overfill printer (your plotter set up as printer) buffer quite fast. Ergo, print spooler will go crazy for sure (if your OS is Windows of course).
If your plotter cutter behaves like crazy, it cuts designs well in the beginning and than it cuts some strange lines, be sure to check, if it's not configured as a printer. If it is, definitely change configuration and set it up ONLY on a COM port.

That was my mistake even, that lot's of manuals show to set up plotter that way. It's a wrong way. I knew that I've made mistake somewhere, but I didn't know where. Than I checked everything AGAIN, step by step, starting from USB drivers installation. That's how I realized, that plotter should be set up on a COM port only (it doesn't matter if it's COM1, 2, 3, 4 or whatever number it is). There is no need to add plotter as a printing device. Next thing you should check (especially if you use SignCut Pro) is the connection speed on your COM port in Device Manager (check the screen - the default speed is 9600kbps which is absolutely enough).

If in your SignCut cutter settings you have option "Use Windows serial setting" checked, but your plotter doesn't want to cooperate, don't throw it away yet, just uncheck this option, set up connection speed manually and everything should be fine now :)

There, hope it will come in handy to people with the same problem, because I read a lot how to solve it and I haven't found solution anywhere :)

Cheap plotter have a Serial interface with a usb converter more expensive ones apart from using far superior motors etc also have a true usb interface ;)

hey little big thing. we just updated not by choice, to win 10. we too have a goldcut cutter/plotter. just went to cut some vinyl, no machine coming up. how do we reinstall please?
