Mug presses used to work this way, and for years we did mugs 180 degrees at 180 secs from we closed the press, and is still my preferred way, and wish this was an option on new presses
We still have out 44" but keep it for a spare when the 63" isn't needs servicing/repair

We used to do 2.4, and changed to 2.2 a few years back. Some stockists complained, but ultimately kept ordering.
Normal markup for shops is 2.2x (assuming you and them are VAT registered)
Therefore a mug with an RRP of £10 (inc VAT) would therefore be sold to the shop at £4.55 (ex VAT)

I always had very good results with InkTec in modified wide format Epsons, and are happy now that we've moved to the HP Stitch S300 with HP's sublimation...

I'd say your temp was too high, and would try dropping it to 180C for 60 secs as a starting point (get an infrared thermometer to check your press heat is what it says it is.
