    Mug Press issue

    Hi Guys,

I've an old upright x-press mug press and no matter what I try, the print fades in the at the ages. I've adjusted pressure, moved the artwork. I'm next thinking is the heat element & not sure where to buy one as it's fairly old.

    Can anyone advice?

So had a butchers around. Are we say the general advice is to leave the transfer paper on and press again or for longer period. What's the recommended temp and time for mugs?
    Kind Regards

Hi Richard, I do my mugs at temperature 180c for 180 seconds. How my press works is you put the mug in when the temperature reaches 170c it then drops a little, once it gets up to 180c it starts the countdown. So in reality the mug is in the press longer than the 180 seconds.

    Cheers
    Kath

On my mug press I have stop the design at least a half inch in fact it will be a little more from the handle, otherwise I will get fading.

    Cheers

Hi again. Umm the design looks enough away from the handle. The black looks ok too. The only thing I can think of is pressure and making sure your paper fits tightly around the mug. Up to now the only time I have that problem is if I get the design too near the handle.
Hopefully someone else will chirp in with some other ideas.

    Cheers

Hiya, thank you - I setup the colour profile just fine, that sorted that. I also did some test runs and it came out fine, however. I've realised that if I do like these photos, it comes out just about okay.
