    Adkins and Chromalux wood panels

Will the Adkins / MagicTouch / Xpres swing press open wide enough for chromulux wood panels?

I am a bit of a magpie with presses and last week picked up an Magic Touch / adkins and it look as though it will not open wide enough for the panels. The other presses I have do, so it's not a problem, just a surprise. If these don't fit, then there is no hope for some things I have pressed!

I tried the thicker panels on my Adkins, the only way to get a decent print was to manually hold the pressure down as it won't lock down at that depth. Sometimes you need to turn them 180 degrees but it's really very tricky in these presses. I bought a cheap £100 A4 press for doing thicker items, mainly acrylics and this worked a treat. Since buying by Pressmech I've had no need to switch either of the other 2 presses on though :-)

    Hi Justin
That's OK then it's not me being a numpty! I have a Pressmech and a Schulze here both of which work beautifully, the adkins was bought for me to see how they stack up and whether they match the Pressmech.

For my range of uses, the Pressmech is still King.
