    Colour changing mug issue

Hey all, I done my first color changing mug the other day, I'm using the jtrans mug press and mugs from dyesublimationsupplies settings as suggested for there normal mugs on there website, 110 resting temp, increasing to 180 when mug is inserted then countdown for 180 seconds, the print came out perfect and really vibrant, my issue is when the cup cools and returns to black you can still slightly see the image, also you can see where the heat tape was and also the edge of the paper :( hopefully somebody has an idea what to do
    Best regards
    Carl

Yep that sounds about right. I tried these and the image always shows through. Tried several suppliers all from on here, branded, not ebay and none of them worked the image always came through. Does the tape and paper edges show on your plain mugs?
    Many thanks

Nah just on the color changing ones, I'm thinking maybe try wrapping the Teflon sheet round the cup and taping that together instead to get rid of tape marks but that still leaves paper edges and visibility when black to resolve

It may be something to do with the colour changing coating these mugs have that effects the heat tape and paper. As I say I gave up when the images never disappeared.
    Many thanks

I have the same issue, i press mine at 200 for 60 seconds. Its like overbaking them (which with print makes the black ink go brown) If you heat the coating up too much it becomes a bit too translucent. Maybe try cutting the time down?
    NEW TO DSF:
    Equipment:
Canon ipf6400, Ricoh SG2100n, Redkite 700mm press, Graphityp GCC SB60 Plotter, Digital Multi Press (mug and flat bed), unbranded generic flatbed press. <----- Just a little bit of stuff!
