    Utterly pressed off!

Hi folks. Me again seeking salvation lol.

When pressing my mugs i always tend to find that im getting marks from the heating blanket. Kinda like a maze type of swirl. Like the windings of the heating element in the blanket. Ive changed my press blanket just 2 days ago. it shows up more on blacks and not to bad on full color mug.
Ive changed times as advised to 160 160 due to using inktech inks.

image in middle of mug is super, just round the sides....Has anyone else suffered from this ?
    please help if you can
    regards

Sounds like too much pressure, also try wrapping the mug in a bit of silicone sheet before putting it in the press.

I had this exact problem when I was first starting out, it drove me crazy. I ended up making some modifications to my cheap Chinese press including strengthening the mounting brackets for the blanket so that it pressed with a more even force.

I also found with mine that less is more when it comes to pressure, when I had things pressing really hard then I got the maze pattern really badly.

Still to this day I tend to avoid large blocks of certain colours in my designs to prevent the pattern, greens and blues tend to be particularly troublesome.
