Once printed an image, How long can it be left on the paper before being used? could I print items off for say stock and use as an when or does it have a shelf life as such. I've searched this but Havant found the answers lol

We print transfers in big batches (often overnight) and store them in various ways - some are in plastic wallets in drop files in a filing cabinet, some are in folders, and others are in drawers - some designs sell only at Christmas, and so sometimes these are stored for 12 months until they finally get used.
We do this to make sure there are always transfers ready to print onto the products. A lot of our products are then also printed and stocked up before being ordered - ones we know are high volume sellers, so that orders can go our quicker than if we were making to order.
If our printer is busy running off 20 metres of transfer for a run of fabric, we don't want to not be able to print some mugs because we need to wait a few hours for the other transfers to finish.

All printed images will fade or shift in colour, but how long is anyone's guess. I'm sure it would be fine for months in a sealed box. But is there any advantage? It still takes the same length of time printing it now or on demand, best to keep your printer working every day.
The only reason I ask is that it in some cases the design that is wanted is only small so rather than waste a whole a4 sheet for such small art work i thought i could use the remainder and keep as stock.
That's pretty much what we do, as we have a metre wide printer, we fill the width of the page, and designs are set in photoshop for this - so mug design 1 is in photoshop spread 12 across the page, so if we only need 1 transfer at that time the other 11 go in the drawer.
that was my thinking why waste paper for nothing. After all every little helps :) Also Pisquee my friend orderd the inks off ebay from you lastnight :)
