Craft Rob0 - Design Master ....... is it worth getting?

    Hi all,

in my (excellent) package that I got from Martin (BMS) I got a craft robo.

I haven't installed anything yet (been too busy painting!) but wondered if I need to invest in 'Design Master' for the Craft Robo?

It comes with a disc with the 'basic' software (I think) but the Design Master is an extra.

    Is it worth getting??

Re: Craft Rob0 - Design Master ....... is it worth getting?

i have the design master as well but i cant get it to line up right from printer to cutter ..no matter what ive tried ... ive gone back to using the software that came with robo cutter as im now used to using it.

the design master is good for font use and other bits n bobs but when using the scan in method is where i got the problems .

    hope that helps...
others might be able to tell u more though ive only had mine a few weeks

I'd recommend you get to grips with the basic software first and if you find you're asked for things you can't do then consider the Design Master software (if it will do what you want it to do).

Thanks for the replies - from what I have read the 'basic' software won't allow me to manipulate text (i.e half moon rotate etc).

    is this right?

That's right. The basic software does straight line text unless you save the text from another application as a jpg, import and then use the outlining tool. You can also cut direct from Illustrator without the advanced software, but I don't use this software so can't help on the specifics of how to do it.
