    Did I get a bargain

Hey all, I just bought a second hand press, its a geo knight combi multi press swing away, its a few years old but works absolutely fine and condition is near on perfect, size is 14" x 16" and it weighs a tonne lol, I was after a new press and am quite new to printing so was unsure what to get, but managed to grab this for £95

Sounds like you got a good buy, I think and I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong but aren't they a bit like an Adkins swing press, if you stick a picture up we can all ogle your bargain :) One thing probably worth checking (on any press) is the consistency of surface temperature, there are infrared guns you can buy cheaply to use to do this, whether they are accurate in measuring actual temperature is probably up for debate but it would show you any variance if the element wasn't working fully all over the heated surface.

Thanks for sharing that, nice to see different makes of kit in use. Will you need to bolt it down for stability?

It should be heavy enough to stay put without bolting down. I thought mine was a bargain (but was still 3 figures) and had to be collected from the 13th floor of a block of flats, so I know very how heavy they are!! Excellent bit of kit :)
