Printing on Frosted Glass Beer Steins

A little advice if possible. We've just got some frosted steins in following a customer request, but I am having real trouble printing on them without marking the frosting.

The print itself is fine, but when I remove the paper it I find it is sticking to the coating and leaving small marks on it (particularly around the edges of the paper). I've tried pre heating the glasses, and I've tried leaving it to cool a little while before removing the paper afterwards but nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions welcome, because I really like the look of the ones I've done so far.

You need less heat getting to the glass. Either less time or temp or a combo of both.

Having left these alone in frustration for a few months, I've just tried another. Less time, less temp (even to the point where the print is rubbish), and I still get the frosting turning to liquid, and the paper sticking to it. I'm at my wits end with these things. Any suggestions, anyone?

I am afraid I can not help but I have had a similar request and I am not sure whether to try them or not. Are you using sublimation glasses and have you tried using clear glass rather than etch.

Sorry I can not be more helpful.

I have just read some past posts on the subject and people have had success with glasses from Longforte
