    Which heat press

    Hello
I had a cheap 5 in one combo set of heat presses bought for me for Christmas. They have bee fine for learning about sublimation. However friends and friends of friends are now asking me to print small orders of up to 100 mugs and 500 t-shirts. To be honest I don't think the heat and mug press equipment I have at present will cut it. The orders are mainly for charity and none for profit organisations. I don't have a very big budget only £1000. Its for A3 t -shirts and 10 and 11 oz mugs. I have the sublimation printer inks and paper already. I have printed with it and the results have been very good so far.

Any advise would be most welcome
    thanks again
    Linda

    Hello,

Thats cool that you are getting off the ground with orders coming in like that. We started off with a Single Adkins Studio mug press. They will set you back about £500 new, but you may be able to pick one up second hand. It has always given excellent results. For the flat bed, BMS do a HP3805 which we have had now for about 18 months. The only thing I have ever had to do was a bit of adjustment to the metal flat bed. But it has four bolts to allow you to adjust the height accordingly. We were getting uneven pressure and it was driving me mad until I realised how easy it was to fix. I would recommend both of those from my experience. Although I must confess I do not really use the mug press so much now as I have been starting to use the halogen ovens with more success than previously.

we have used the basic mug press from BMS printer owners for 000's of mugs, less than 150 each, so get 2!
the remaining 700 will buy you a very good second hand Adkins beta maxi heat press, - probably with some change

Thank you for your help and suggestions. I bought a freesub double mug press and it sailed through the order. I bought a Geo DK20s for the t-shirts - it was more than I wanted to spend but I though well the 500 t-shirt will pay for it. Its a bit on the heavy side but muscles are toning up now and it really is a super press.
