I've managed to figure it out. On the printer menu there is a setting for Auto Off: mine was set to 'Active', I've now set it to 'non Active' and the blue light stays on now!! I'm really happy with the printer

fact is they use far to much ink to make them profitable...
That is not a fact at all. I have both Ricoh and Epson and both use a similar amount of ink and both have earned me bucket loads printing mugs. If a Ricoh is using too much ink then it tends to be set up incorrectly or being used incorrectly (for example turning them off does drain the ink quicker).

Hi Socialgraffe, It might be worth checking the settings on your Epson - i had same setup - Epson now uses about 1/3 of what the sawgrass used - just a thought...

Sawgrass carts registered empty when they had loads left of ink in cart - this is a fact because we weight all our carts...

    Hope this helps..

    Cheers Weston, I will check.

Don;t disagree with you about the registering empty bit. Gets my goat :-)
