Anyone know whats causing this? quality issues

    Hi All

Before jumping to conclusions I wondered if anyone knew what would cause this (picture attached)

First set Epson A3 printer with compatible inks, 2nd set Ricoh with genuine inks.

I have printed successfully with the A3 on lots of things but these are terrible! its a unisub keyring and a mdf version.

When you say RICOH genuine inks do you mean the standard Gel inks? As the genuine RICOH cartridges are not filled with sublimation ink.

You could be over cooking with the Ricoh (sawgrass) inks!

What inks are you using in the Epson? Are you using an ICC profile?

No, because I was told I didn't need one. To be honest, I'm not 100% sure what they even are. All ive been doing is using the "photoshop manages colours" option. Why, would that cause such an effect? Ive printed on coasters and other bits without too many issues but these keyrings are really horrid!

If someone tell you that you dont need to drive your colours with icc simply lie to you.
You can get away without one in some cases but this not mean you shouldn’t do ine.
even using epson driver is using icc. You just dont know it. And is wrong icc btw as is created for epon inks only.

    Any way,
that epson print look bad, but have you pressed it fir long enough and with high enough temperature?
also do you print on corect side of the paper?

    Hi Paul

They were all pressed at the same time, same paper, same time and temperature -the only thing that was different was the inks.

Although, I'm not convinced the paper ive got is any good - it came from signzworld and there doesn't seem to be any noticeable side to it.

lick your fingers and grab page. one side will stick to your finger more than the other. more sticky side is the correct side to print as is coated.
