    Hi Social,
that little spring is THE MOST important part on the press, - and it is a 'consumable' - thou a pita to change!
Without it, the plate doesn't lie flat, and post, pins etc all wear unevenly or work loose.
All easy(ish) to change by self.
Don't forget high temp grease once a year too
Yep, have to admit I have neglected the fella recently and I think it just wanted a bit of TLC. The great thing about Adkins though is that all the parts are replaceable and they are a great company to deal with. Given that the machine is now approaching half a million presses roughly and this is only the second time that I have had any major fault then I am pretty happy with it. I wonder if my £250 get me out of jail machine from Signworld will match it :-)

Must be the time of year, Just replaced the switch, rubber mat and spring on our Maxi A2. Now keeping switch, springs and fuses in stock so it will inevitably be something else that goes wrong next time.
