Unhappy Sawgrass SG400 not printing correct size

I am trying start-up a dye sub business in the Isles of Scilly, but I have already run into problems. Because of my design background I chose to stick with MAC OS. I have the latest MAC OS and the latest SG400
driver installed. The first problem I encountered when installing the sawgrass software, was the printer profiles for my Adobe Creative suite were not installed. I contacted Sawgrass and after they checked my installation
they said I could not install them because I did not purchase Adobe CS6 cloud version ( this I was never told ), I have the previous CS6 suite. I can see the printer etc, just do not have the printer profiles. Ask Sawgrass if they could send the printer
profiles so I could manually install, but no joy.

They told me I could create my files in PhotoShop using the correct RGB settings and then save the file as a jpeg to the Virtuosa Hot Folder and the Printers software would
pick the files up from there. This works fine except for one big problem; they print smaller than actual size by 2.4%, not a lot, but effectively I lose my bleeds. If I print direct from PhotoShop
the jobs print ( using Generic RGB printer profile ), but the colours look much darker than they should be, but the file prints the correct size.

I contacted Sawgrass a week ago and they replied to me 3 days later said it was probably an MAC OS issue, they were going to investigate and come back to me, but sadly not as yet.

I guess I could make my files 2.4% bigger, but this seems daft and just can not understand why they can't give me the printer profiles for my Adobe software.

Can anyone please help or advise? I would be very grateful,

Will Evans - All Things Scilly

Hi, I'm generating my artwork in vector format using Graphic software on Mac and encountered the same problem with SG800 - drivers all installed OK. I export my artwork in vector format into .png and pick them up in the Virtuoso Print Manager and they come out slightly undersize. I've adjusted my product templates to suit. I spent a day with Novachrome from whom I bought my printer and presses and they advised me the same.

Sawgrass keep promising to contact me to sort out the problem, which they admit too, but sadly weeks have gone by with no reply.

I have managed to print very successfully using my flat press by making the images larger than necessary. I have now experienced a new but different problem using my new ST-3042 Heat Press to print mugs. Followed the instructions to the letter
but they print very badly; all washed out looking and not sharp. I have been doing the mugs one at a time ( thought it was best to begin this way ). But colours look poor and washed out, blacks look brownish. Paper has yellowed so must have been long enough.
I have been doing one mug for 8mins at 200c. Have you any advice for this problem? Pulling what hair I have left out here in the islands :-(

200 C seems too hot to me. I don't use an ST 3042 though, I have 2 mug presses and a halogen oven, all of which work well with my Ricoh SG3110DN.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? HAving just updated to Virtuoso 6.2 I am now having the same problem.
It's incredibly frustrating as we have a huge library of product on Sawgrass that we currently cannot print the correct size.

Sadly I haven't. They have not proved to be very sympathetic. They promise the recent update would resolve the problem, now they claim the next update might. They have also closed my case even though they have not resolved the problem.
I am not very impressed Sawgrass's attitude regarding the all the problems I have had including my CS6 programs not working properly with the printer either ( no solution offered for that other than I have to save my jpegs directly to the Virtuosa
Hot folder and uploading to the printer. Also the Utilities don't work properly either. When you want to see how much ink in left of each colour it's simply unable to tell you. Again all can describe is indifference from Sawgrass. Other than this the printer
    works beautifully.
