built-in bulk ink feed is a nice addition, wonder if they'll start doing this for the bigger models too
That's good to know - wish they were doing that when they built the 11880!
4 colour from what I can read. The P800 is 9 colour (well 8 with two blacks) which is great for our fine art work so going to 4 colour would be more aimed at the textile market perhaps?
We do a lot of textile work, and no way would I go back to 4 colours
Indeed. One of the main reasons we haven't jumped to say the Epson SureColor F6200 as only 4 colour.
4 colour will do me and my needs. Waiting to hear the price

Update from a supplier talking about quality on this new printer:
"I asked Epson salesman about your concerns on it being a 4 colour device when you are currently doing the same process with 9 colour. He seems to think it is being aimed at the entry level promotional market. He hasn't seen one himself yet but is not sure if it will be Chromaluxe quality if this is what you are aiming for/currently doing. It really does depend on what level of output you need for your products."
So for us it won't do sadly.
Looks like the price is going to be in the region of £1800 + vat. Lot less than the 44" printers, but four times the price of the A3+ Epson desktops. Also a lot less than the 24" Sawgrass printer, with cheaper inks.
For those of us that don't need larger than A3+, what advantages does the SC - F 500 offer over the A3+ Epson favourites such as the 1500w and its derivatives (ET14000/L1800)? Is it likely to have a higher yield ( faster print speed), have better print quality or be more durable/better build quality?
