Thanks for that just doing some work myself on this need to find a way to make decent quality hats was considering sublimating a patch and then adding that to a hat anyone on here done anything like this ?
We've just got the patches for the customer to sew onto boiler suits, hats we got embroidered directly.

Ive sublimated patches and then sewed them onto a cap with my embroidery machine with a satin stitch. You need a very stable cap or the stitches will wander.
I use Golden Finished (ready range) and they print really well.
I personally don’t bother with the sewing ones but get the ones that heat press on as you sublimate. But more of a risk but a lot quicker.

USING: Whatever it takes to get the job done...
You can buy the "glue" on a roll. If you have patches without the sticky back for ironing on, then you can buy from an embroidery supplier the glue to press onto the back of the patch and then onto the garment. Its pressed on at around 140c so wont affect the sublimation.
