    Impact Image Library

Is Impact the best source of vehicle outlines? Do you have to pay to update each year?

Also looking at this sites out of interest....

I think Impact are generally regarded as being a good choice and, I believe, you get free updates for a year. They are also amenable to discounts and have a safety signs catalogue disc they will offer separately or do a bundle deal.

    However, there are some caveats!

Firstly, no outline from any vendor is ever 100% accurate. It is useful for producing layouts but not good enough for cutting vinyl to exactly fit a panel. The only real way to do this is to physically measure the vehicle.

Secondly, you are paying for hundreds of vehicles you will never get work for.

Thirdly, you will be amazed how many people don't actually know what their vehicles are. For example, someone will say they have a Transit van and it actually turns out to be a Vauxhall Vivaro or you ask what wheelbase it is and they say it's a medium and then it turns out to be long wheel base. Just recently I had a guy who said "I've got the a couple of vans to do - same as yours - Berlingos." Had to tell him he was not looking at a Berlingo. They will also neglect to mention that they have a ladder rack fitted on the back or rear windows instead of unglazed, all sorts of stuff where there is no real substitute for seeing the actual vehicle in advance, at which point you can take photos and real measurements . If you supply a design laid out on an actual photo it saves all sorts of errors and gives the customer a more realistic visual.

Outlines were great before digital cameras but now, I think, are just outdated.

Comes in handy, very useful for getting text to fit panels accurately.
Bit like a road Atlas, in that there is rarely any need to upgrade on an annual basis. Most vehicle upgrades are only cosmetic and major upgrades are few and far between.
No substitute for actualy seeing the vehicle. Had a long wheelbase Transit Connect last week that turned out to be a short wheelbase with tinted rear windows.

I am printing some magnetic vehicle signs for my mate. He has the following van and ideally I would like to send him a visual with the signs on the van. is there any chance on of you could download the van and email it to me?

If its not to much to ask could I have it in 2D and 3D?

If you Pm me I will drop you my email.

    Van is

    2014 VW Crafter
    Standard wheelbase
    Swing doors
    Sliding door on passenger side
USING: Whatever it takes to get the job done...
