    Beta Maxi v Insta 256

    Hi all

Anyone have either press that could give me some insights into which to get? Believe the Beta Maxi is Adkins?

Saw the Insta at work and it was great. It's part of a package deal, being offered the Beta Maxi (38x50cm) as standard but can get the Insta if I'd prefer it.

See a few people on here have used the Beta Maxi but not as many using the Insta (unless i searched the wrong thing!).

Not been doing this all that long but know Adkins is a good brand from what I've seen others recommend. Just wondering it the Insta is worth the extra £600 (plus vat).

    thanks

Very similar looking presses but I'm not sure if Insta is a rebadge. Adkins have an excellent track record. The latest machines aren't made in the UK as they used to be but I believe they are assembled here (Hinckley, Leics)

I like many have had the Adkins for years with no major issues. Problems whilst rare are usually easily rectified but not always cheap.

I sold mine a couple of years back having moved over to a Pressmech machine. This press gave me more flexibility for different items. The Adkins for example cannot lock down and press thick (e.g. 20mm) acrylics without a different lower platen/table.

My advice would be to have a chat with Dick at Pressmech before making the final decision and take a look at Pressmech.

Have used Insta, and Adkins - the Instas are better - certainly better/heavier build quality - BUT, I'd always recommend PressMech above them.

Only issue is if you need to press thicker than 20mm
