    Canvas Tote Bags

We did a job a while back using Xpres no weed transfer paper onto cotton natural bags. This worked out great and we've been asked for a similar job today. This new job requires larger than A4 and each image will be different (usual school children's design type order!)

I know we can get the paper in A3 but only have A4 lasers. Just looking at options. I was hoping we could ruin something through our latex but I think we will definitely need weed free.

Perhaps I could contract out the A3 sheets but you know how these jobs go, a few here a few there, couple more at last minute!

Funny, I was speaking to the lovely PenCarrie rep today, so it got me thinking about cotton. Are you using an OKI C711n with the Xpres no weed? Or have you got white toner with that paper?

Have you an A3 sublimation printer Justin, if you have I can send you some of the Reveal SR film to try that would do the job on tote bags for you.

Thank you for the offer. We only use rolls as we have the VJ625 though.

I do have an A3 Ricoh that was retired a couple of years back. Might be able to resurrect if needs be!

The polyester bags would be ideal solution but not sure in quality until I see one.

If you are not going to go the sublimation route then perhaps the following:

    Use TMT's TTC A4XL 63p a sheet
    40p for a 5oz cotton tote a bag

    Job Done :-)

I used to print 1000's of cotton bags and never needed A3 as I think A4 sits really nicely on the bag.

Yes there is a hand print left behind with TTC, but it is a cotton bag, it really does not matter, like I said, used to do 1000's and never had a complaint about the hand feel.

Whatever you decide, make sure you get a good 5oz bag. Ralawise (and the likes) sell a promo bag which is thinner than toilet paper.

You can get polyester totes for sublimation, which would be ideal for this job.
The bagbase one is about £1.50, or Subli do a nice range.

Bit more expensive than cotton, but you will be saving on the laser paper.

Cheers folks. Hadn't thought about the TMT media, would certainly be an option. I see my usual supplier Ralawise has those bags as well so another option thanks.

Appreciate the hand on the TTC but with a second press I'm sure it would be fine, presumably durability is ok on this? Maybe Sublimation has the edge there?

Really like the look of the Subli bag but £20.99 minimum delivery is too much to be absorbing.

Where do you find bags at £0.40 Simon?

    Hi Justin

If you want, I can post you up a printed bag so you can see the hand feel for yourself. Durability is not an issue at all. Firstly, TTC is very durable and secondly, there is not a single person I know that washes these bags. Even if they did they would still hold up anyway :-)

DO NOT GET THE COTTON PROMO SHOPPER from Ralawise. It is awful. The Westford Mill ones are OK, but a bit on the pricey side if you ask me :-)

    I will email you a contact ;-)
