Hi
I have not visited the dyesub forum a lot recently, been busy with life, work, kids, you know how it can get sometimes. Today was a different sort of day for me though, I attended the funeral of a friend who was frequently on this forum offering advise, opinion or just exchanging banter. ArferMo as he was known here past away on September 1st unexpectedly and somewhat prematurely in hospital. Well over a hundred people turned up at his funeral, some travelling great distance, such was his impact on others and the affection held for him.
He leaves behind his wife and three grown up young sons (and grandchildren) all of whom I had the really good fortune to met today for the first time and who are a credit to him. Arthur was the type of person who took time to talk to anyone and everyone, helped where he could and was in my humble opinion an extremely knowledgeable, intelligent and very capable man, who could do, fix or knew how everything worked, a real talent and genuine good guy.
Dyesub and print was a hobby not his career, though as with all his interests, he immersed himself in it and learnt the craft and to my mind was a wealth of experience and knowledge which I for one already miss. 'What would Arthur do' is something frequently mentioned here these days when we come across a situation we are unfamiliar with. So tonight I raise a glass (or two!) to my dear friend and if you knew of him please do the same.
