    Graphtec CE5000 - ROLL1 or ROLL2 ?

We've had our Graphetc since the beginning of time and it's been a workhorse and still going strong.

When I went to use it today, following a power cut, the display showed SHEET. I'm quite sure we've always used ROLL2 and never tried ROLL1.

    What are the pro's & con's of ROLL1 & ROLL2? Which do you choose?

    Cheers

if you use SHEET, the machine feeds the media back and forward to discover its size.
We put tape over the sensor located at the back about 6 inches from the right hand side of the cut path.
Roll 1 and 2 are just for different media configurations.
WE cover the sensor and have it on ROLL ?
The cutter does occasionally switch to sheet - inwhich case it feeds and feeds and feeds.
    Just change it back

Never had a Ce 5000 but on the Ce6000 Roll 1 winds the media back to the front edge and Roll 2 starts cutting from the possition as loaded. I would think the 5000 would be the same(?)

Thanks guys, I'm sure we've always used ROLL2 in the past but switched to ROLL1 last night and noticed it parked the leading edge further back than I would normally have set it using ROLL2

When using ROLL1 do you still have to set origine?

    Cheers

Not on the 6000. Roll 1 sets the edge of the media about 1.5 cm past the blade. You can go back a little with the origin if you want.
Roll 2 sets the media wherever it is when you close the lever.
