Ricoh Sg3110dn Sub not printing mug wraps

Hi all I have been sublimating for a few years but all of a sudden my Ricoh has stopped printing mug wraps only, Designs do print if printed on A4 size but takes time to cut them up. The mug print stops half way though every time and states paper misfeed error. I have checked all compartments and there are no obvious issues that I can see. This issue only started recently and the only thing I have changed is the mug wrap paper but I don’t see how this would be an issue. Could this be the case?

is paper guide nice and tight when holding a paper?
also have you set your own custom size paper in printer driver?

Hi Paul yes the guides are tight and I have it setup as a mug wrap as per the wrap size. Is it not strange that it prints half of a print each time therefore the rollers are picking it up?

It may very well be your paper.

To cut a long story short, your print engine is expecting the paper to arrive at and clear certain optical sensors at very precise times. If the paper slips by even a very small amount, it can result in a paper jam or other event being triggered.
If there are say 4 feed rollers across the paper input path, the A4 sheet will be pulled by all 4. If you put in narrow mug paper, it may only have two pulling it in and one of those rollers may be slightly worn thus slipping. Any subsequent sets of internal rollers may be worn too causing the same issue.

If the paper is not within tolerance then it can also cause a jam event to trigger. If the paper is too short or too long then it may be causing an optical sensor to trigger a jam as the paper either hasn't cleared when expected or has cleared a sensor too early.

    Hope that makes sense :)

This stuff from Amazon is ideal for cleaning pickup rollers

Hi Rab thanks for that insight, I finally solved the issue over the weekend. It turns out the new mug wraps are from a different manufacturer therefore there was a slight difference in the length so when I remeasured the wraps and setup the custom size everything worked fine again :) thanks all
