It could be a build up of ink on your rollers or on the bottom. Get a J cloth or similar own brand, something which doesn't shed dust, damp it with IPA solution and clean all round. Your cloth will pick up ink from somewhere inside, even if your prints are fine...it gets messy inside printers.

I would say it is your refill carts are nearing the end of life and the seal has gone.

From my understanding of why ink "drops" is that it is to do with the vacuum not being good enough and ink is leaking from the nozzle. I could be very wide of the mark with that statement so don't delve too much into it unless someone backs me up who really does know what they are talking about :-)

On my Roland, on the rare occasion that I experienced what you have there, it has been a rogue hair that has stuck to the print head. A quick wipe and it is gone. However this is far easier to do on a Roland and I would not have a clue how to do it on a 1500W

    Hi,

How old is your 1500w, do you have a waste ink container fitted?

Would agree with this Simon, if the cartridges are old (12-24 months) the seals will be wearing out, this lets the ink flow and drip out the printing head as it passes left to right when printing. Seen it a lot over the years.

Replace with a new fresh set and all should be fine again.
