Hi all,
Quick question :)
Can anyone tell me the correct temperature, pressing duration and pressure to sublimate umbrellas? 100% polyester. The brollies are from Xpres/Ralawise.
Angie got it wrong first time:
Thanks
John

The look on his/her/its face! ".......really?"
Never done brollies John but I'd suggest 180 to 190 deg C for 60secs, medium pressure, as a starting point. This seems to work fine on other 100% poly materials that I've tried such as shoe bags, drawstring bags, totes etc.
:) :) :)
I think the problem occured because of confusion between 350 - fahrenheit or celsius - choosing 350degC was the wrong choice!!!!
350F at 60 secs works :) 350C at 60 secs doesn't!

Thats one hell of a heat press you have John. 350c?, you can cook your pizzas on that.
I wasn't there Earl and I darn't comment!! :) :) :)

I have done a few - used the same time and temp that I use for t-shirts.
Careful not to melt the frame - some golf umbrellas have plastic arms.
Thanks all,
I think we got it right with 180c for 60 secs.
Cheers
John
