    Mug Wraps

I'm going to play about with ovens in the New Year, so plan to pick up some wraps in preparation.

I know most people buy the cheap Chinese green wraps, but has anyone tried the Cactus wraps with the screw? He reckons they only last 300 presses and you have to maintain them every 10 presses!

Which wraps do you recommend? Blue, green or red?

Wow, even more time consuming! We use the green Chinese wraps with no real issues. I'm currently playing with making my own for smaller mugs, still in prototype stage ;-)

Just get them direct from China. I contact a seller on FleaBay, paid something like £3.20ea if I remember correctly.

    As Justin says.

See my posts about cleaning them, but they should last at least 300+ mugs each.

Another one converting to ovens.... it is the future ;-)

I think we've about 10 or 12 of the green wraps spare somewhere Gary, if you are after any.

We decided to go bank of studio Adkins rather than oven in the end.

I've got a smooth operation of Adkins working at the moment, so I'm going to upset the apple cart.

I'm thinking that the wraps and oven will eliminate the problem of warped and tapered mugs. Too much fading at handles recently.

I was wondering if it worth the extra for the blue silicone wraps...it's a decent material.

    It certainly should

Better mugs will sort that one ;-) You'll certainly get closer to the handle with a wrap, about 5mm and top to bottom is much better.

    Hi all!

Maybe little of the topic but how often do I need to change that wrap if I use mug press?
Maybe there are some approximate number of mugs that I can do with one wrap?
