Mug Printing - Inside the mug?

Someone asked about this recently but I can't see the thread. This company are offering full colour printing 'inside' the mug, not something I've seen before.

    GULP!!!

Just had a look at their pricing...

    General Costs
For quick figuring you can 9 - 11 oz mugs printed in various spots for $50.00 each. 12 to 19 oz mugs for $75.00 each and 19 to JUMBO (20 oz) for $100 each.

Want more? call us for some discounts.

This allows you to print on the INside and out in many different locations. Shipping is about 2-3 weeks unless you rush the order which is 30% more cost but done fast to fit your time schedule. (or we will tell if you if we can or not, but ask us anyway).
I'd love to know how many they actually SELL!

Lol, I didn't discuss prices as I assumed I'd read it wrong! They must print the ceramic, roll it into the correct shape and add the handle for that price! and then line it with gold ;-)

Haha! Sort of 'cut & sew' for mugs!

My press will open wide enough to get a mug under, a bit of padding and it should work. I doubt the bottom is coated sufficiently to allow a print and not sure how much to increase time by but worth a shot!

Never been a fan of subi coatings but on an area this size it might also be worth a go.

If you can get a mug that has been coated inside then I don't think this is that difficult.

You just need a vacuum press and a mold which are both already available.

I would have thought there will be a few companies that sell mugs that are coated inside just because of how the coating is applied. Finding out who will be the challenge though. You need to find a supplier who coats their mugs standing upright, most coat upside down.

Look like digital water slide transfer. As they put a 3 week lead time on there it might give time for a handful of orders build up so easier to group print a run both through the digital ceramic printer and fired in a kiln.
