Printable Vinyl (BN-20) for Nylon & Polyester?

    Hi guys

We often print numbers & names for motocross shirts - the really light weight polyester variety. To date we've been using Xpres Subliblock. However, yesterday one of our regulars brought in a new shirt constructed of the following materials:

    FABRIC
    •Body: 51% polyester / 45% Tencel / 4% spandex
    •Sleeve: 85% nylon / 15% elastane

Our customer wants us to print all the sponsors adverts/logo to be heat pressed the body of the shirt as well as the sleeves.

Can anyone recommend suitable printable vinyls for this purpose?

    Many thanks

You might need two different vinyls for this job, however I would start with Siser C-Print Hi-5. Its a really nice printable film with very strong vibrancy.

The marketing splurge is Performance wear, cotton, polyester, poly/cotton and lycra

    Grafityp sell the Sisier range

If this is no good, then Siser's website has a section titled SISER SPORTS which might have a better suggestion.

    Thanks for the reply,

I'm thinking along the same lines - two different vinyls! Many vinyls do exclude use with nylon, probably because it would melt!

    Solvent Dark Turbo
Hi Ricky, is this film available in clear?

I don't have a job in mind at the moment, but I do like the look of it for light garments

    Thanks for the info.

How does the Solvent Dark Turbo compare to The Subliblock:

    1. Resistance to shirt dye coming through - especially on the parts where there's no print? Subliblock has a plastic barrier membrane.
    2. The 'feel' of the vinyl compared to Subliblock?
    3. Print vibrancy?

Do you have a sample I could print to so I can compare with Subliblock?

    Cheers

    Hello John

PM me your details and i will send you a sample that you can print on.

For opacity its just as good as Subliblock, it will feel softer than Subliblock as its only 100 microns and its bright white so you will get nice vibrant prints.
