    Metal blurring

    Hi everyone,

I currently use subli metals satin silver matt metal with a clear resin dome over the top. After a few months, the image is totally blurred but the white metal is still fine. I’m using Ricoh with sublijet inks and the correct profile. Does anyone know why this is happening or how I can stop it. My customer really wants the dome over the top.

    Thank you

Hi. Can you post a picture or two please? Not sure what you mean by the 'white' metal when you say you are using satin silver?

Also, are you doming these yourself, or using the self-adhesive polymer domes sold by Sublimetals?

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply. When I do the same design on white metal, it’s fine but blurs months later on the satin silver. I’m using poly domes from eBay

Metal has a polyester film on top. Is the adhesive from your resin dome dissolving the film?
